Mojave Off Road Enthusaists (MORE) and the KARTEK Gold Cup Challenge took to Southern California's Mojave Desert in 1997 after the fall of the La Rana Desert Racing Series, hosting off-road desert races for such vehicles as the off-road truck, SUV, 4X4, prerunner truck, buggy, VW bug and JeepSpeed Jeep Cherokee XJ. The races take place in the Mojave Desert of Southern California and include locations such as the Spangler Hills OHV of Ridgecrest, Stoddard Wells Valley OHV of Barstow and Johnson Valley OHV of Lucerne Valley.

The off-road desert race is the fourth race of the off-road desert racing series. The off-road desert race includes such vehicles as the off-road truck, SUV, UTV, 4X4, prerunner truck, buggy, VW bug and JeepSpeed Jeep Cherokee XJ.
